10 Days Gorilla And Big Game Safari

Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via the top of the Falls

Set off at 6:45am for Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch. After lunch, proceed to the park passing via the top of Murchison falls. Enjoy beautiful sights of the magnificent falls. If time allows, head out for an evening game drive in search of lions, leopards and other wild animals. You’ll be driven to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and afternoon boat cruise

After breakfast, wnjoy a morning game drive in the northern sector of Murchison falls. Look out for night dwellers including the leopards, lions and hyenas which we’ll get to see before they retreat into the thickets shade as the afternoon sun heats up. 

After a lunch break, head out for a cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Enjoy the unique sights of aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds, not forgetting the breathtaking views of the water falls. 
Return to the lodge for the night.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest

After breakfast, start your 6 – 7 hour drive to the beautiful town of Fort Portal. You will arrive in the late afternoon hours and settle in at the lodge for the night’s stay.

Day 4:Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Community Walk

AEnjoy chimpanzee tracking on this day as you spend 2 – 4 hours in search of these fascinating cousins of ours in their natural habitat. On this unique tropical forest adventure, you get to enjoy the sights and sounds of rich tropical life in addition to watching the chimps. 
After your lunch, we’ll head for a community walk in the swamp in search of different endemic birds of Bigodi. We will also see and experience how gin is locally distilled in this community.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park for an Evening Game Drive

After leisurely breakfast, embark on a 3 hour drive to Queen Elizabeth park arriving in time for lunch. Have a siesta as you settle in. Thereafter, drive through the savannah grasslands as the backdrop of the sun setting against the Rwenzori Mountain ranges affords you a spectacular sunset. 
Game to be seen include elephants, buffaloes and antelopes among others. We’ll arrive at the lodge at sunset and settle in for dinner and the night.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will arrive in the late afternoon. Unwind in the peaceful forest side lodge as you prepare for the action filled day of gorilla trekking.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

We will head to the park office at 8:00am for briefing. Thereafter, the rangers will walk you down the narrow forest paths and through thick undergrowth, with the bird sounds in the background as you search for the gorilla families. 
Trekking can take between 2 – 6 hours. However, once found the experience of watching these incredible primates in their natural habitat is well worth every ounce of energy expended on the tiring forest trails. It is most advisable for trekkers to be in good physical condition before embarking on the trails. 
Get in close proximity with the gorillas as you quietly observe these pacific primates in their natural habitat. Watch the gorills eat, groom and play. Packed lunch is offred during the day.

Day 8: Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, transfer to the picturesque Lake Bunyonyi to unwind in Uganda’s idyllic lake district.

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi Boat Cruise plus Options of Zip lining or Quad biking

We will spend this day exploring the islands and villages in the lake. We will sail on a boat with our local guides born in the area. We will learn about the history of the Island and the incredible biodiversity of the Island. We will also visit villages and communities in the area as we learn and explore about the culture and life of the people of Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 10: Drive to Entebbe

After breakfast, we’ll embark on an 8 – 9 hour drive back to Entebbe where we will arrive in the evening hours.
